Wales and Silver Sands to kick off weekend action

It will be top versus the bottom today when the Coca Cola Premier League continues at the Wildey Turf. In the only game being played, leaders Weymouth Wales will be taking on Silver Sands in an 8 p.m. clash as they get the weekend started.

With all the teams currently even on five games apiece, last season’s Champions Cup and Capelli Super Cup winners are out front on 13 points from four wins and a draw. Paradise
were off to a hot start but had the wind knocked from their sails in their last game and they now sit in second on 10 points from three wins and a draw.

Notre Dame are looking good at third on 10 points as well while the defending champions Barbados Defence Force Sports Programme are the only other unbeaten team with two wins and three draws for nine points. Deacons are in fifth place after getting up to seven points from two wins and a draw. Wotton close out the top half of the table with six points from two wins.

After languishing at the bottom of the barrel for a few weeks, the University of the West Indies Blackbirds are roosting in seventh with five points from one win and two losses. Similarly, Brittons Hill have identical stats after going down the Blackbirds in their last outing.

The next three spots in the standings see Empire, Ellerton and St. Andrew Lions on four points from four draws each. Silver Sands round things out with a single win for just three points.

When the actions picks back up on Sunday, Brittons Hill take on Empire in Game 1 at 4 p.m., Wotton and the Lions clash at 6: p.m. The night-cap will see Paradise and the Blackbirds fight it out at 8 p.m.
