St. Elizabeth’s razed by Hillaby

A 6-0 scoreline was the result at Shorey Village yesterday when Hillaby Turner’s Hall destroyed St. Elizabeth’s Primary in their Zone 3 matchup in the 2017 BICO National Sports Council Primary Schools’ Football Competition. With the tournament just about getting into swing, St. Elizabeth’s were dealt a heavy blow early on as Trevon Francis led the charge for Hillaby.

Francis became the bane of the St. Elizabeth’s custodian’s existence as he got past him on three occasions. Three other goals would beat him and Rashawn Brewster, Kemani Maynard and Keshawn King would be the players responsible.

A Dacosta Edwards were also big winners at Shorey Village as they dispatched Holy Innocents Primary. They ended with a 3-0 victory as Kydaine Worrell recorded his first hat-trick of the season. There were also three goals scored by St. Bernard’s when they came up against St. Joseph Primary. Ajani Williams scored twice for St. Bernard’s while St. Joseph got one from an own-goal.

Daniel and Ethan McCollin both scored a goal each to take St. Matthew’s to a sound win over Welches Primary in Zone 2. Playing at Orange Hill, the pair scored the only goals of the game to see it end at 2-0.

Good Shepherd pulled out a close one from St. Silas Primary at the same venue as they outweighed their opponents’ single with two. Emile Reid and James Pounder rocked the nets for Good Shepherd while Raquan Browne got the consolation for St. Silas. The story was the same for Sharon and St. James Primary with the former getting their goals from Karos Greaves and an own-goal while Rashad Bailey scored once for St. James. St. Alban’s and West Terrace played to a goalless draw in the other game at Orange Hill.

In Zone 6 at the Stadium, Kevion Newton scored the only goal of the game to gift Wesley Hall Juniors points over Grazettes Primary. Westbury Primary and St. Mary’s split points in the other game at the Stadium after breaking even on a goal apiece. Tyrese King scored for Westbury, while Deshawne Wiltshire netted for St. Mary’s.

St. Martin’s Mangrove had the biggest win of the day at King George V Park as they ‘went to town’ on Hilda Skeene in Zone 8 action. Hilda Skeene were unable to issue any reply as St. Martin’s rolled to five goals. Reneco Taitt Best, Doneco Franklyn, Kishmar Brathwaite, Amare Griffith and Jadan Callender all got their names on the record with successful shots.

Blackman and Gollop were also in winner’s row as they knocked three unanswered goals past the Bayley’s Primary keeper. Khairi Thorpe, Tyler Niles and Marques Lovell were the scorers in that encounter.

Gordon Walters were forced to fight for their points when they came up against Reynold Weekes in the other fixture at King George V. Five goals were scored to see them come out on top of a keenly-contested game. Willam Morris helmed the effort for Gordon Walters with a brace while Alluto Forde added a third. For Reynold Weekes, it was Rashad Harris and Javonte Crawford who had a goal each.

The competition continues in earnest today with games at Speightstown, Blenheim, Greens, Ellerton and Briar Hall.
