Rendezvous deny advance to Notre Dame

Rendezvous FC were able to hold off the advances of a determined Clayton’s Kola Tonic Notre Dame as the latter sought to overtake them for third place when the Barbados Football Association’s Digicel Premier League continued this week. Playing at the National Stadium on Thursday night, the two teams remained in third and fourth respectively as Rendezvous came from behind to break even at a goal apiece.

The Dames wasted no time in stating their intentions as their top goal-scorer, Zeco Edmee, brought his total up to five goals in five games in the second minute of the exchange. The score would stand for the rest of the first half, but Rendezvous found an equaliser in the 55th from former National player, Carl Joseph.

The night’s second game saw Paradise easing past Phone Repair Medic Belfield on the standings with a 2-1 win. Paradise were right outside the relegation zone in eighth place with four points, while Belfield held on to seventh with four as well. However, by the end of the night, those placements switched.

Both teams remained goalless going into halftime, but Armando Lashley broke the deadlock for the Dover-based team in the 56th to be followed by Akeem Browne in the 71st. Belfield did not leave empty-handed as they were gifted a consolation by Henderson Richards in the 78th minute.
