Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley (second from right), Minister of Health and Wellness, Col. Jeffrey Bostic (third from right), and Minister of Maritime Affairs and the Blue Economy, Kirk Humphrey (far right) share the honour of cutting the ribbon to officially open the course for yesterday’s Walk for the Cure.

Great turnout for Walk for the Cure

As the word continues to be spread across the length and breadth of Barbados, the response of the general public to the impact of breast cancer continues to rise.

This was evidenced by the several thousand Barbadians who came out yesterday to lend their support to the 2018 CIBC FirstCaribbean Walk for the Cure.

The walk, which is in its seventh year and was pioneered in order to raise the awareness of locals to the disease – which is the cancer responsible for the most deaths in women on-island – was officially launched by Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley, along with two breast cancer survivors, with the cutting of a pink ribbon.
