Xmas cheer on the Green

THE jovial sound of Christmas music wafted through the air during a free concert hosted by the Ministry of Creative Economy, Culture and Sports, in Association with Cutting Edge Community Development.

Christmas cheer returned to the Wanstead Green over the weekend with performances from the Haynesville Drummers and Dancers, Gabrielle Mayers, Jillisa Rene, Promise, La
Joie, Mission Prayz and the Royal Barbados Police Force Band.

Speaking briefly at the event was Minister of Innovation, Science and Smart Technology, Senator Kay McConney, who thanked the performers for bringing “a smile, a little joy, a little peace to this season.

“Barbados will be celebrating ‘We Gatherin’’ next year where we will be bringing Barbadians and who love Barbados from far and near, and we are bringing them home every month…"

Noting that St James will be featured in the month of September, Senator McConney encouraged residents to continue to let the spirit of love and community continue into 2020.
