Tickets going quickly

Tickets for the National Independence Festival of Creative Arts (NIFCA) Dance have been going briskly.

Word of this came from National Cultural Foundation (NCF) Corporate Communications Specialist, Simone Codrington, who said there are less than 90 tickets remaining for the November 13th event.

“I hope that you have your tickets purchased because Dance, which is what we are going to talk about this afternoon, is already almost sold out. We only have literally 88 tickets left today [Monday] and the Junior Night … those tickets are literally 12 tickets left. So you really need to come down and get your tickets for NIFCA.”

Codrington was speaking at the NIFCA Dance Launch at Scotiabank’s Bridgetown branch. She also shared that tickets for the Theatre Arts and Music Nights “are going quickly”.

This is the fourth year that Scotiabank has sponsored the finals. There were 79 entries in the NIFCA Dance preliminaries and 27 of these have become finalists. The finalists will be gracing the stage at the Major Noot Hall of the Combermere School on the Monday night.

“[It is] normally 26 finalists, but we had a tie for a final spot. We have genres such as ballroom and Latin, modern, contemporary dance, street with urban… We have some mixed genres, jazz fusions and for the first time ever, we have aerial silk performance where the dancer hangs from the roof, very interesting stuff. We also have a special performance in NIFCA with a group entering a piece with persons from the differently-abled community,” stated Culture Officer – Dance, Alicia Payne-Hurley, as she spoke about what patrons can expect on the night.
