Three sweep classes at Karting

WHEN the dust settled at the Bushy Park Racing Circuit, for the fourth round of the Barbados Karting Association’s 2016 SDRR Motorsport/Chefette season, three drivers had completed a clean sweep of their Class on Monday.

Sebastian Thompson, Christian Hinds and Mark Thompson won all of their races on the day, which was sponsored by Williams Equipment.

Sebastian Thompson won the Easykart Juniors 100cc, after a close battle initially with Dana Bradshaw. The event used the Eastern Karting configuration in an anti-clockwise direction, and as has been the decision this season, races were run 10 minutes, 12 minutes and 15 minutes, plus two-laps.

Dana Bradshaw was second in all three races, while Graham Bradshaw was third and Adam Marshall fourth.

Hinds was in dominate form, and had his own way at the front of the X30 Class. Whenever he sensed someone was getting close, he just applied the pressure to open his advantage once again, and easily won all three races.

Second was Ricky Kirton ,who had to settle for second place in all three of the day’s races, while Reco Alkins was third and Calvin Bartlett fourth.

Mark Thompson crushed the rest of the field in the Easykart 125cc senior masters, winning by a comfortable margin each time. Aryton Bannister was second twice, before not finishing the third and final race of the day.

Mark Kinch was in fine form in the Easykart 125cc Lights, as he bounced back from his second place finish in the opening race to win the other two races on the day.

Race one winner, Joshua Maloney, was third in the second race and second in the final race. Tremaine Forde-Catwell carried off two third place finishes and one second place.

The class 3 was rounded off by Justin Maloney, Aiden Fortier, Simon Willis, Allan Kinch, Sacha Soodeen, Brent Murphy, Daryl Clarke and Alan Bayne.

In the Easykart Cadet 60cc Class, Kyffin Simpson just managed to edge ahead of the Calem Maloney. Simpson finished with two race victories and a second place to his name, while Maloney had one race victory and two second place finishes.

Charlie Kerridge was third and Adam Mallalieu fourth.
