Sir Elliott wishes Class 4s sitting the 11-Plus well

 

With the Common Entrance Examination slated for Tuesday, Governor General, His Excellency Sir Elliott Belgrave has wished the class 4s of the St. Ambrose Primary School all the best.
 
He did so on Friday while addressing specially invited guests, staff and students during his official visit to The City school. 
 
The Head-Of-State further expressed a hope that the results obtained by the Class 4s sitting this year will be better than those attained by the group who sat last year. 
 
Sir Elliott during the visit also reminded students of the significance of obtaining a solid education. He told pupils that having such would assist them with attaining some measure of upward mobility and it would provide them with an opportunity to acquire any job they aspire to achieve.
He additionally spoke about the purpose of his visits to the primary schools island wide which he said was to inspire the teachers and the students. 
 
Meanwhile, reflecting on some of the pieces performed during the day’s entertainment package which included performances in poetry, song and sign, he shared with students what were some of the traditional uses of the mentioned trees. He also stated what he enjoyed most about the day’s presentations which comprised some original pieces. Each performance was in keeping with the month’s theme, ‘Trees from the Earth’.
 
Among the guests in attendance for Friday’s visit was Education Officer with the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Catherine Blackman. She reminded pupils of the importance of thinking first prior to speaking. She pointed out that this is one sure way of minimising contentious behaviours. She also urged the student body to listen and inwardly digest the many interesting tips shared by the Governor General of Barbados.
