RPTC initiates relief fund

THE Regional Police Training Centre (RPTC) is on a mission to assist the country of Anguilla.

On September 6 Hurricane Irma, a Category 5 with 185 mph winds, caused extensive damage to the British Overseas Territory located in the Eastern Caribbean.

Public Relations Officer for the Royal Barbados Police Force (RBPF), Inspector (Ag.) Roland Cobbler, said that the Training Centre has therefore embarked on a relief effort to assist the country on behalf of 11 Anguillan Police recruits, and an instructor.

“These officers are currently on training at the Regional Police Training Centre at Seawell in Christ Church, and away from their families and friends in their time of need,” he expressed, also disclosing that police
stations and key infrastructures in Anguilla were destroyed.

“As a result, we are making an appeal to persons who are interested in joining us in this venture and are desirous of making donations or contributions to contact the Regional Police Training Centre at telephone numbers 418-2634, 418-2644, 418-2643.”

Inspector Cobbler also noted that persons can deliver their contributions to the Training Centre or arrangements can be made for them to be collected.
