Rotary Club of Barbados South recognising excellence

THE Rotary Club of Barbados South continues to acknowledge the work of individuals, companies and businesses that may have contributed to the growth of the country in one way or the other.

The club held its annual Rotary Awards for Vocational Excellence, at the Accra Beach Hotel, where three awardees from The Department of Emergency Management, The Barbados Meteorological Services, and Joy Knight-Lynch, were selected.

The club recognised these individuals and organisations as having excelled in their particular vocation through outstanding performance.

The role of the club is to implement and encourage the objective, by its own actions in dealing with the community, and by the recognition of those who use their vocational talents in the service of the community.

The objective of Rotary is to support and foster the idea of service as a basis of worth, and also to promote professional development and delivery of excellent service. The club is committed to maximising productivity, promoting professional development and delivery of excellent service. Rotarians pursue this through activities that enhance the knowledge by guiding others to find gainful, fulfilling employment.

The aims of the awards are to recognise vocational excellence of the highest order and to honour outstanding contributions by individuals for significant advancement in their vocational field in Barbados. Another aim is to inspire enthusiasm, give added reward to the exceptional achievers, and also to set an example to others.
