Promote STEM FIELDS

Executive Director of the Caribbean Science Foundation (CSF), Cardinal Warde, believes that more needs to be done in the region to develop the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields.

Warde expressed this as he delivered his opening remarks during the Showcase Finals of the 2017 Barbados Junior Robotics Camp, which was held at the University
of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus yesterday evening.

“The CSF exists partly because we believe that the Caribbean region is not doing enough to harness STEM for economic development. We continue to rely on tourism – which we have to; it makes a lot of sense – but we have to diversify the economies a lot more,” he said.

He added that it is their hope to bring the camp cur-riculum to schools in the near future.
