Prepare to fight on spiritual level

The battles that we would fight in this world are not of a physical nature, but those that are controlled by evil forces beyond this realm and, therefore, the weapons that we use to fight in these battles must be of a spiritual nature.

This is coming from Pastor Jamal Medas, who delivered the sermon at the New Year’s Eve service at The People’s Cathedral (TPC).

He stated that just as the children of Israel, we also need the strength of our heavenly Father if we are going to effectively go to battle against the enemies that we face, whether they be spiritual or physical in nature.

“The battle that is before you cannot be fought with physical weapons. You need supernatural strength, you need ability from on high to come with you so that you can be victorious. Church, can I tell you tonight, that the Bible says that the weapons of our warfare, they are not carnal, but they are mighty to us through the pulling down of every single stronghold because we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities.”

Unfortunately, too often persons fight this battle in the flesh, not recognising that those persons who come against us in their words and actions, have a “spirit” that is operating in them that is making them speak and act this way and therefore, it is not that person that we must fight, but the “spirit” that is in them.

“Too often we are fighting in the flesh when the Lord is saying that the battle is in the realm if the spirit. It is not the person who is trying to oppress you, it is the spirit at work behind them. But instead we get angry and we get frustrated and we allow what is operating behind them to remove us out of our calling.”
He stated that when he encounters slanderous persons, he does not fight back. Instead, he takes his situation to the Lord.

“Church, I don’t know about you, but I don’t get frustrated with people. I don’t lash out at them. I would never give them any back talk … But what I am going to do is go into my closet, go into my wardrobe, go into a place of prayer and say, ‘Father, if this person is of you, let their will be done, but Father, if there be any hidden agenda … Father, if anything in their lives is trying to penetrate me and remove me out of my calling, Father, I ask that You will send fire and remove that person out of my life.”

Pastor Medas added that this is something we must all do because the upcoming battles for the year would be from forces beyond this realm.

“The Lord is saying, ‘Listen, stop operating with physical weapons and take the fight within the realms of the spirit. Many of the victories that we shall win in 2018 would not be of a physical nature … Lord, you see what is happening. You do not sleep and Father, You do not slumber but I am going to get on my knees, I am going to sing to Jesus, I am going to pray, I am going to fast until You turn that situation (around).”
