Precious Touch Foundation Inc. receives generous donation

The Barbados Defence Force (BDF) donated all the funds they raised from the BDF Have A Heart Charity Walk/Run event to the Precious Touch Foundation Inc. yesterday morning.

During the handing over ceremony, which took place at the Officers’ Mess at St. Ann’s Fort, Deputy Chief of Staff, Commander Aquinas Clarke noted that it was his pleasure to donate all the monies raised to the Precious Touch Foundation, which accumulated to $13 764.10 BDS.

“We are gathered here this morning to make a special presentation to the Precious Touch Foundation; an organisation that has found an enduring and active partner in the Barbados Defence Force. I believe this is the second event of this type, and the beginning of a relationship that we at the Barbados Defence Force intend to last many years,” he said.

“Our Chief of Staff always states that the BDF is a community. We, the members of the Force are not immune to the challenges that exist in our society. So to have an organisation like the Precious Touch Foundation as one of our partners, is but one of the ways that we give back to the society from within our small community.”

Adorial Maxwell-Hazell, President of the Precious Touch Foundation Inc. expressed that the presentation of the cheque came at the perfect time as the Foundation is set to celebrate their 10 year anniversary this month.

“We are always very appreciative of any assistance extended to our Foundation, so at this moment, we are so grateful that the BDF has made our Foundation the charity of choice to give this generous donation to this year,” she said.

“I can assure you that this type of generous donation would go a long way in creating some lasting memories for our Wish families.”

She expressed that she was looking forward to next year’s event, which was announced to take place Saturday August 11, 2018 and added that with the continued help of the BDF and Digicel, the Foundation could continue making precious wishes come through for medically challenged children across Barbados.
