Online payment of drivers’ licences soon to come on stream

The days of standing in long lines at the Barbados Licensing Authority or branches of the Barbados Revenue Authority (BRA) to pay for one’s driver’s licence, will soon be a thing of the past.

Minister in the Ministry of Finance, Ryan Straughn says the task will be easier than the current process of signing up for a United States visa online. He was at the time speaking during a question and answer segment at the launch of the new EZpay+ (plus) platform recently, at the Raddison Aquatica Resort. The EZpay+ payment platform is a Government of Barbados rebranded payment facility, which will offer citizens a convenient, simple, secure and fast way of paying for government services.

Minister of Innovation, Science and Smart Technology, Senator Kay McConney had earlier noted that Barbadians will be able to use EZpay+ to pay land tax, National Insurance contributions, subscriptions to The Official Gazette, telecommunications licences and business registrations with the Corporate Affairs and Intellectual Property Office. Other services to come on stream she said, include the revamped police certificate of character, passports, visas and drivers’ licenses.
