Join RBPF: Deputy Commisioner

The Royal Barbados Police Force (RBPF) is looking for a few good men and women.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Erwin Boyce is encouraging individuals who believe they have the basic qualifications to apply.

“From there on we would get in contact with those persons. Obviously, we would have to go through some background checks – the normal process that would allow someone to be made suitable for the organisation,” he said, also warning that as a result of the said checks, some applicants are rejected.

“In some instances they are things that would come to [light]that you could only discover when you do background checks.”

The Deputy Commissioner was at the time speaking to members of the media on the sidelines of the Celebration Ceremony for the successful participants of the Prince’s Trust International Team Programme, held at Accra Beach Hotel.

“When you want to be a Police Officer you must have a passion for the job; a passion for customer service.”

While admitting to a manpower shortage, he however made it clear that, “At the same time we are sufficiently creative and innovative – that we are capable of delivering the service that we ought to deliver, at the rate that we ought to deliver, and definitely to respond to the calls of people. So, it has not impacted negatively at this point in time on our ability to respond to the service calls.”
