Funds allocated for mission in Ghana

The Government of Barbados is serious about establishing a mission in Ghana, and so Parliament voted on Tuesday on a money resolution of which a portion of the funds will go towards that mission. Minister in the Ministry of Foreign Trade, Sandra Husbands, while leading off the debate in the Lower House on a money resolution in the amount of $3.4 million to be made available to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, said that $1 million of the money will settle bills of an existing mission as well as establish the mission in Ghana. She made the point while explaining that this country recognises the “absolute importance” of South-South cooperation, especially in relation to trade.
