Elsa continues through the C’bean

After giving Barbadians the most awesome and terrifying display of natural power since Hurricane Janet in 1955, Hurricane Elsa has moved on. The event, which began in the wee hours of the morning and huffed and puffed till the early afternoon, has already made her presence felt in other territories.

After originally being projected to weaken, Elsa was bumped up to a Category 1 system as she made her way towards Martinique, St. Lucia and St. Vincent and the Grenadines yesterday. Moving into the Eastern Caribbean Sea and gaining momentum as she goes, projections show her path going through southern parts of the Dominican Republic and Haiti before moving on to Jamaica, through Cuba and onto the panhandle of Florida.

With Elsa now behind us after coming so early in the season, all we can do is be prepared and brace for the coming months.
