Easier to donate

Cave Shepherd has made it significantly easier for persons to donate to seven different charities this Christmas season.

Speaking during the launch of the Cave Shepherd Mobile LifeLine Christmas Charity Appeal that took place on Wednesday, Operations Manager of the Cave Shepherd Card Services, Keri Mapp, highlighted that as the Cave Shepherd Card Scheme continued on its digital transformation journey, they decided to make it easier for cardholders to give a gift of cash to seven charities via the Cave Shepherd Card app this holiday season.
“This Christmas, cardholders using the Cave Shepherd Cardholder App can donate to any of the seven charities,” she said.

“These seven charities are the Substance Abuse Foundation, the Barbados Vagrants and Homeless Society, Precious Touch Foundation, Team Mickey 246, Variety the Children’s Charity, the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Salvation Army. Each charity has a proven track record and we are pleased to announce they are all Cave Shepherd mobile partners.”

She explained that cardholders can send their donations using the ‘send and receive’ function on the app, in order to safely and conveniently send to the charity of their choice.

“Cave Shepherd and Company Limited is extremely pleased to spearhead this initiative and we look forward to each charity this season in the future. We urge our cardholders to support this worthwhile experience,” Mapp said.

She pointed out that Christmas was the time when persons were more likely to give and were in the mood to give. However, sometimes they are pressed for time and are unable to make it to a charity in order to make a donation, as such Mapp noted that donating via the cardholder app was an avenue that she believed people would find useful as they would be able to sit at home or at work and immediately donate money to the charity of their choice.

Gail Welch, Business Development Officer, Cave Shepherd Card Services, told media that they were very excited to be part of the digital journey of the nation with the mobile app.

She proudly added that since the launch of the app, they would have seen over 17 000 downloads of the app and as such, hoped that the significant number of users translated to large donations for the charities.
