Community Band donates to Welches Primary School

A foreday morning community band donated a chest freezer to Welches Primary School to assist in the school’s fund raising efforts.

Last Friday morning, the Schogetten Chocolate Army Foreday Morning Band, handed over the freezer and ice cream to the school so that the class four students can raise funds to assist with their upcoming 2017 graduation and prize giving ceremonies.

One of the band’s leaders Jason Parris said the decision was made to make the donation to the institution, to coincide with Schogetten, which is marketed and distributed by Fine Foods Inc, becoming the band’s title sponsor.

“Schogetten also donated chocolates to the students and presented vouchers to the class four students because they did really well this year. We intend to work with the school and bring an element of culture into the school as well. So next year we will be looking at an initiative where we will encourage the students to design a costume, among other things,” Parris explained. (AH)
