Big surprise for Courts Grand Prize Winner

By Cara L. Foster
James Fenty became BDS$100 000 richer, as he was named Courts’ Grand Prize winner yesterday evening, during a Prize Giving Ceremony.

Fenty was not the only person to receive a gift from Courts, as a number of other people were also blessed with prizes, as there was much to be given away. Marva Drakes, George Anthony Griffith and Jason Sobers were also able to go home with $10 000 extra dollars in their pockets, as they were announced the winners of the Whirlpool Loads of Cash Promotion.

Managing Director, Trisha Tannis, said that Courts wanted to show their appreciation to their faithful shoppers through the multiple promotions, and highlighted that the company was only able to celebrate their 50th anniversary two years ago as a result of the constant support that was received from the patrons over the years.

Tannis expressed how glad she was that a loyal customer, Fenty, who has been loyal to Courts for the past 10 years, was able to receive the grand prize money, and noted that it was important for the customers to feel special, as they have continued to support the company even through these tough economic times.

“So we really want to say, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for continuing to shop with us and continuing to support us,” she said.

Tannis went on to mention that when persons support Courts, they are also supporting the community. She revealed that she was proud of the fact that the company was able to give back to the community by sponsoring university scholarships, sponsoring ordinary heroes in the community, supporting school children or their staff in their personal development, as well as other various ventures within the community.

“Not a lot of this makes the press, because we really don’t think that as a company we need to do that, but there are thousands of persons that we help on an annual basis, and we are proud of the fact that we are able to give an account of the money that you [the patrons] spend with us,” she said.
