BAEP has its say on inclusion in CAIPO’s list of non-compliant charities

The Barbados Association of Endometriosis and PCOS (BAEP), a registered charitable organisation in Barbados that seeks to educate citizens and advocate for those who have endometriosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome and other similar debilitating pelvic conditions, has issued a response with regard to its inclusion in CAIPO’s list of non-compliant charities.

“The Barbados Association of Endometriosis and P.C.O.S (BAEP), a locally registered charity, was recently made aware of our Charity’s inclusion on the Corporate Affairs and Intellectual Property Office (CAIPO)’s list of non-compliant Charities, which was published in the Nation Newspaper on Wednesday, 4 December, 2019. BAEP wishes to assure all our members, partners, donors, affiliated individuals and organisations that we are indeed compliant and, since our registration in 2016, we have never run afoul of such,” the charitable organisation pointed out.

Addressing the circular, BAEP’s Co-Founder stated, “Our financials are hand-delivered to CAIPO yearly and in a timely manner, but unfortunately, after our investigation, it was confirmed that these submitted documents were never placed on our file. BAEP takes this listing very seriously, and has taken and will be taking appropriate action and measures to ensure that there is no repeat occurrence of this allegation.”

“The Barbados Association of Endometriosis and P.C.O.S stands committed to serving our valued members, partners and friends, and remains focused as we to continue to provide support to women in Barbados who have been diagnosed with Endometriosis, PCOS and other similar debilitating pelvic conditions” the BAEP said in a press release issued to The Barbados Advocate.
