‘Sol Win 50k Promotion’ Grand prize winner revealed
Michaelle Forde is the lucky winner of $50 000 after placing 30 entries in the “SOL Win $50 000 Promotion”.
Forde found out she won the grand prize yesterday at SOL Warrens Service Station and was moved to tears on hearing the news. She told the media, “I am overwhelmed, I could not believe it and I’m grateful, I always say if I win money I will sit down and think about it first because I’m a person that thinks constructively when it comes to finances.”
Denise Mendes, Retail Sales Executive for Sol Barbados at the event indicted, “the response for the competition has been awesome for many reasons, but as we know with the economic situation in Barbados everyone wants to win $50 000, so the response was very good. We printed 150 000 online forms and printed 205 000 manual forms that were distributed.
In terms of business, we have been holding our own, we had a good June and the gas prices $3.96 at the pump is not a small at all, therefore we like to do promotions like this to give back to ease that burden and that is what Sol is all about – the customer. We will be doing other promotions, but it is all about giving back to the Barbadian public.”
The Sol Win $50 000 promotion, officially started on May 3, 2018 and ran for eight weeks. The promotion gave customers a chance to enter with every $50 spent in Sol Go Further Infinity Fuels at Sol Service Stations across the island. There were also additional chances for customers to win weekly prizes of BDS$50 at the pump , a total of 80 customers won $50 in cash at the pump. (NB)
