Big scores in Round 2 of Herman Griffith Primary School Cricket competition

 

A half century by Reveria Cottle led St. Giles Primary to a resounding victory over George Lamming Primary at Blenheim B when the National Sports Council’s Guardian Group Herman Griffith Primary Schools Cricket Competition continued yesterday.
 
Cottle scored 55 runs and was well supported by Shanchez Ried-Haynes, who scored 22 and Rommel Smith with 19 as St. Giles posted a total of 136/4.
For George Lamming Kai Miccolin took three wickets for 22 runs.
 
However, in reply George Lamming only managed to reach 38/9 as Kishan R. and Keary Barrows each took 3/7 to give St. Giles a 98 run victory in Zone D1.
 
Miguel Barker turned in an undefeated 53 runs for Milton Lynch as they stormed to a 113 run victory over Vauxhall at Briar Hall in Zone C2.
 
Milton Lynch scored 138/8 off their 25 overs despite some impressive bowling figures from Vauxhall’s Antonio Hamilton 3/7, Quavon McClean 2/9 an Jadonte Forde 2/26 .
 
In reply Vauxhall only managed to reach 25 runs before being bowled out.
 
The bowling was spearheaded by Jeraint Franklin with five wickets for 2 runs and Shaquille Croney with five wickets for 6 runs.
 
Bayley’s Primary was lead by Daniel Joseph and Shaquan Belle each with 46 runs as they posted an impressive score of 176/6 against Reynold Weekes at Bayley’s school grounds.
 
For Reynold Weekes, Jadan Eastmond took 3/22 and Jerry Pollard took 3/22.
 
But this did not stop Bayley’s bowlers from ripping through the Reynold Weekes batting order.
 
Four bowlers played a roll in Bayley’s 105 run victory as they bundled out Reynold Weekes for 71.
 
For Bayley’s Daniel Joseph took 3/9, Teon Haynes 2/16, P Clarke 3/11 and Shaquan Belle returned with the ball to take 2/17.
 
At Eden Lodge, the home team bowled out St. Stephens Primary for 43 runs in the 11th over. Leading the bowling attack for Eden Lodge was Kyron King with 4/21. He was well supported by Raheem Holder with 2/17, Oche Farrell with 2/2 and R Forde with 1/1.
 
In reply Eden Lodge only lost two wickets as they reached 44/4 in the 14th over.
 
Antoine Darlington scored 11 runs for Eden Lodge who won by eight wickets.
 
Also picking up victories were St. Winifred’s who defeated Bay Primary by 37 runs at Blenheim A, St. Christopher defeated St. Paul’s by nine wickets at Inch Marlow and Sharon went down to St. James Primary by eight wickets at Trents. (CG)
