Junior footballers rewarded

Renaldo Bowen and Tia Briggs-Thompson were named Most Valuable Players when the Outstanding Junior footballers were honoured over the weekend at an awards ceremony for the National Sports Council/Y

Damari Skeete ran to first place in Heat 2 of the U-11 Boys’ 300m for St. Catherine’s Primary.

Shonae Davis of Trinity Academy won Heat 3 of the U-11 Girls’ 300m in a time of 54.02 seconds.

Jacobe Griffith had a record breaking distance in the U-13 Boys’ Cricket Ball Throw for St. Philip’s Primary after smashing the old record of 57.49m with a record throw of 62.43m.

NAPSAC 2018 under way

IT was a rocky start to the National Primary Schools’ Athletics Championships 2018, but St. Catherine’s Primary and St. Ambrose Primary paid no mind and took the Obadele Thompson Zonal crowns.

ON May 24, Barbadian Alphonso “Al” Green will be inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Boston Red Sox.

GOLD MEDAL JUMP! Josh Newton of Performers Track Club clears 1.60 m in the U15 Boys High Jump for the gold medal. Newton was one of the top performers during this last weekend’s 17th Annual Young Olympians Track Meet at the National Stadium.
