Winners shine in several categories of December Medal golf tournament

Maurice Clarke, Trenton Weekes and Frere Delmas were among the winners when the 12th Courtesy Garage Monthly Medal golf tournament was contested last weekend at the Barbados Golf Club.
Sixty-four players contested the December medal tournament where BGA (Barbados Golf Association) Secretary Trenton Weekes, posted a nett 68 to win the seniors’ division.
Delmas won the men’s 0-12 handicap division with a nett 68, while Clarke took the 13 and over catergory with a net t73 and won on a count-back from Collis Lynch.
Among the women, Brenda Phillips was the winner last Saturday with a nett 72 while Anne Gilbert was second with 73.
Geraldo Thomas produced the days best gross score of 74 and was also awarded for his effort.
Winners in all catergories each collected another five important points which will go towards their qualification for the 2016 Courtesy Medal play-offs which will be staged on January 14, 2017.
Monthly medal tournaments were sponsored by Courtesy Garage for the first time this year, through their Nissan and Hyundai brands.
