Wales whip Silver Sands

ALL happened as expected in the Coca Cola Premier League when the top met the bottom on Saturday night. Only dreamers with a song in their hearts could have seen it transpiring any other way as leaders Weymouth Wales rolled to a 5-0 win over Silver Sands. Playing at the Wildey Turf in the only game on the night, Wales got a chance to stretch their legs and get fancy as they stormed their way to the biggest win thus far this season, their second after inflicting the same on Deacons earlier on.

The score stood at 3-0 when Referee Edwin Adams signalled half-time after Kareem Headley opened things in the 20th. Wales picked up a bit of a patters as Ray Snagg rocked the nets twice in 10-minute intervals making it 2-0 and 3-0 in the 30th and 40th minutes.

Going the other way, the pattern persisted a bit longer with Tyrel Demendonca getting his second goal this season in the 60th. Raymar Walters shut down the show in the 63rd as Silver Sands were able to keep Wales at bay for the remainder of the encounter.

With Silver Sands now on a fifth loss in six games, their plight to remain in the top flight became a bit weaker as the encounter now sees Wales six points clear at the top. Second-placed Paradise would have had a chance to close that gap last night in the final game on the card at Wildey as they took on the University of the West Indies Blackbirds.
