Wales end on a high-note

Just days after being sent an official message of congratulations by FIFA President Gianni Infantino for winning the Barbados Football Association’s Digicel Premier League, Weymouth Wales closed out their 2017 campaign with a massive win. Rounding out their 18 games with 13 wins, four draws and a single loss, the Carrington Village-based team rolled over Home Improvement and Hardware Supplies Waterford Compton for the biggest margin of victory for any team this season.

With Wales coming out 8-0 winners last time these two met up, nine unanswered goals were beat past the Compton custodian this time around. Romario Harewood got the ball rolling in the 30th minute with Hadan ‘Fatty’ Holligan following up in the 37th, a goal that brought him up to 11 for the season. Arantees Lawrence would end his night with a beaver trick to top things for Wales with 15 goals this season. He got his first just two minutes after Holligan before scoring again in the 49th.

Harewood completed a brace in the 51st to bring his season total to 10, while Lawrence had back-to-back goals in the 61st and 70th to close out his account. Tristan Parris got his name on the cards when he rocked the nets in the 87th. With Compton thinking the ordeal was over, Jabar Greene added insult to injury to give Wales their 51st goal of the competition in the 90th minute.

Ending this season with the best goal-difference of any team – 38, Wales stand close to 10 points over their closest rivals with 43.
