Mr. Barbados 2016, Stevenson Belle, proudly raises his trophy after winning the title on Saturday night at the Allmax National Championships at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.

TRIPLE TREAT

Stevenson Belle crowned Mr. Barbados

Although it took a year longer than expected, Stevenson Belle is now the three-time winner of Mr. Barbados.

Belle, who has experience winning big shows such as CAC, had to wait until 2016 to win his third title after he injured his back last year at work and was forced to sit out Nationals.

This year at the 2016 Allmax Nutrition Barbados National Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre on Saturday, Belle was ready with his leg muscles showing separation and the teardrop in the quadriceps as well as his full shoulders and biceps.

However, missing from the show was last year’s winner, Hoskyn ‘Biscuit’ Worrell, who is taking some time away from competition.

Competing in the Heavyweight category, Belle only had one challenge in the form of Kirk Alleyne as the hardcore bodybuilding category seems to be less favoured with athletes opting for men’s physique.

Despite this, Belle moved on to the championship round which featured other champions on the night.

Impressive on the night was Shaquille Lavine, who continues to make gains in the sport and in his presentation.

His back was broad and chiselled, he showed striations which all led to him carrying off the title of Mr. Barbados Junior as well as the Light Middleweight title over a tough field that included Laron Gibson and Samuel Eastmond.

There were 11 competitors that spanned the Men’s bodybuilding categories with David Small winning the Middleweight category from Lamarr Coward and Joseph Bourne.

Belle has now added the 2016 Mr. Barbados title to his 2011 and 2013 titles. (CG)
