St. George get mixed results in Pamala Proverbs Zone

St. George Primary had mixed fortunes at the James Bryan Complex this past week when they continued their campaign in the Pamala Proverbs Zone of the Pine Hill Dairy National Sports Council Primary Schools’ Netball Competition. Playing in two of the three games at the venue on Friday, they were only able to pull out a win in one of the fixtures.

Going up against St. Jude’s first, a single goal decided the outcome of the game as St. Jude’s left with the win. St. George Primary did not get any shots off while St. Jude’s had several bites at the cherry. Goal Shoot Teoneisha Smith had two attempts, but was unable to get either of them to drop. At Goal Attack, Adrianna Browne secured the lone goal in the second half from three shots.

St. George fared better in their other game as they came away with a 4-1 win over Mount Tabor Primary. After leading 2-0 at the break, St. George went on to close out the game at 4-1. Mount Tabor’s Goal Shoot Sasha Alleyne gave her team the goal from a single shot, while Tashaunna Lewis shot four of six in the same bib for St. George.

St. Jude’s also had a second game, but that encounter ended in a draw as they broke even with Cuthbert Moore Primary. The two could not seem to get away from each other as they were tied one-all at the end of the first half. With both teams making it to three at full time, Browne scored all three for St. Jude’s from four shots. For Cuthbert Moore, Aaliyah Stoute hit two of three at Goal Shoot while Zariah Mascoll added the other from three tries.

The competition is set to continue today at the Police Boys and Girls Club for the Marion Johnson-Hurley/Carolyn Sinckler Zone. (MP)
