Josh Burke has made another jump in the rankings of the World Surfing League (WSL) over the weekend.
With an impressive showing at the WSL Ron Jon/Quiksilver 1500 event in Cocoa Beach, Florida, he finished 3rd to jump 33 spots and into the top 100 on the WSL international rankings to 75th.
Burke consistently showcased speed, power and technical surfing in the 2-4ft smooth conditions. He posted the event’s highest wave score – a near perfect 9.5pt on a left-hander in RD 3 that he executed four polished vertical backhand snaps to end on the beach. In addition, he posted the event’s highest heat total – a 17.33pt combined from an excellent 9.00pt & 8.33pt rides in RD 4.
Burke currently sits at 75th on the World Surfing League international rankings as the league takes a break due to the Coronavirus.
