Josh Burke moves up in rankings

Barbadian Joshua Burke has jumped 36 places in the World Surf League International rankings.

Burke is just outside the top 100 in the rankings on 108th after a good showing in Australia.

He placed ninth a few weeks ago in the WSL Vissla Central Coast 3000 event in Avoca, Australia, gaining 1050 points for his efforts.

Burke spent 18 months in the top 100 through 2018/2019, however, he dropped to 144th at the beginning of 2020 after missing six events last year due to an injury.

Burke bounced back in top form to win the last event of 2019 in the WSL North American region, The WSL Thomo QS 1000.

Burke arrived in Cocoa Beach, Florida recently from Australia to compete as the Number one seed in the WSL Ron Jon/Quiksilver 1500, an event he won in 2018. The event runs March 12-15.
