Fixtures set for YDP Round of 16

WITH the standings of the Youth Development Programme (YDP) National Sports Council Football Tournament set in stone, the Round of 16 is set to kick off early next year. After the majority of the teams were able to fulfil their five-game quotas in the preliminary round, the best performers have taken one step closer to being named the number one youth constituency team in the island.

Action is expected to kick off on Saturday, January 4 and over at Speightstown, St. James North have a date with St. Michael North at 5:30 p.m. The later game at 7 p.m. will see St. Michael South-Central and St. Peter crossing swords. At Passage Road, St. Philip North and St. Michael South-East meet up at 5:30, while Christ Church East-Central and St. Lucy go up against each other in the night-cap at that venue.

On the Sunday, the venues are Briar Hall and Dover. At the former, Christ Church West-Central and St. John get things going at 5:30 p.m. At 7 p.m., St. Michael South and St. George South will be the ones going after a spot in the quarter-finals. Over at Dover, it will be St. Thomas and St. Michael North-West locking horns at 5:30 p.m. The 7 p.m. game at the venue pits St. Michael North-East and St. Philip East against each other
for the last remaining quarter-final berth.

The quarter-finals are set to commence on the following Saturday at Friendship and Speightstown.
