Elite Distance and Barracudas are set

THE Elite Distance Programme and the St. Catherine’s Cricket Club Barracudas will once again have the resources they need this year thanks to Co-operators General Insurance.

With the track and field season in full, the commitment of Co-operators General Insurance to sponsoring the Elite Distance Programme was indeed welcomed. With seasoned track stars such as CARIFTA gold medalist Johnathan Jones and up-and-coming field juggernaut Triston Gibbons, who recently broke the national junior discus record at the Louis Lynch Championships, Elite Distance has excelled on the island.

The St. Catherine’s Barracudas are one of the most competitive teams in local cricket. With the continued support of Co-operators General Insurance, they will have the means to follow the trend of being a team to watch out for in the local competitions.

The insurance company also recently launched the Co-operators General Insurance Barbados Amateur Basketball Association Premier League, which tips off this Thursday at the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex at 6 p.m. (AS)
