Barbados Pride, Windward Islands Volcanoes play to a draw

After losing an entire day to rain, Barbados Pride and Windward Islands Volcanoes played to a draw on the fourth and final day of the Digicel Regional first class eighth round match.

Barbados Pride captured the first innings lead at Kensington Oval when the Volcanoes resuming on 241/6 at the start of the final day were bowled out 287.

This gave Barbados Pride a slender first innings lead of 29 runs as Kemar Roach led the bowling attack to finish with 4/75.

Topscoring for the Volcanoes was Kavem Hodge with 63 runs and was supported by Roland Cato with 56 runs.

By the tea break Barbados was 84 /1 with an overall lead of 113.

Opener Anthony Alleyne was caught edging to second slip for a mere six runs in the 13th over.

Captain Shamarh Brooks and Shayne Moseley both brought up their half centuries after tea and before the end of play.

Brooks made his half century off 101 balls which included six boundaries and one six.

Moseley took 166 balls for his half century and he struck five boundaries and two sizes.

Brooks ended the second innings undefeated on 69 runs, while Moseley was not out in 57 runs and Barbados finished on 135/1 at the close of play.
