Barbados Pride hold upper hand against Red Force

Barbados Pride ran through the Trinidad & Tobago Red Force batting order to ensure a first innings lead of 34 runs.

Playing in the West Indies first-class championship at Kensington Oval yesterday, the Red Force started the day in a solid position of 52/1, but fast bowler Keon Harding with five for 57, along with two wickets apiece from opening fast bowlers Kemar Roach and Chemar Holder were the undoing of Trinidad and Tobago.

Four wickets fell when the score was on 88 runs as Roach and Harding teamed up to bowl four consecutive wicket-maidens, leaving the Red Force stumbling on 88/6 after reaching 71/2.

The Pride then ensured there would be no lower order fight-back as they picked up the remainder of the wickets just after lunch for 175, as they were replying to the Pride’s 209 first innings total.
Jeremy Solozano scored a half century from 84 balls for his team, which included nine boundaries.

In their second innings the Pride were 127 for two off 40 overs to finish the second day with an overall lead of 161.

Opening batsman and captain Kraigg Brathwaite was trapped lbw after he reached his half century and the team was on 106. Brathwaite scored 58 runs off 104 balls which included 5 boundaries and one six.

Shamarh Brooks is the other batsman out and he was also trapped lbw and he was on four runs.

Still in the middle are Shayne Moseley who is just one run shy of his half century on 49 runs, and Justin Greaves who is on three.
