BABA First Div KOs continue this week

The first and second round of games in the Barbados Amateur Basketball Association First Division Knockout competition are almost the books with 10 more games scheduled to play this week.

In the first round the Pan American International Insurance Warrens Sports Club easily defeated the Checker Hall Braves 82-69 while Orange 3 Pinelands dispatched the Station Hill Cavaliers by 21 points, 62-41. 60-46. ACS United fell to the Burger King Clapham Bulls in a down to the wire battle 53-58. ACS United lead the Bulls, 31-24 at the half and looked to be on their way to a victory. A third quarter run by the Bulls tied the game at 40 all they took the lead and stretched it to an 8 point advantage with one quarter to go. United tried to rally and cut the deficit to 3 with 2 minutes left in the game but good play in the paint by the Bulls earned them free throws at the charity stripe which helped them secure the game. Newbury and the Barbados Lumber Company Lakers Sports Club matchup was also postponed due to weather.
