Alleyne School receives boost ahead of start of BSSAC today

THE secondary school athletes will descend on the National Stadium today as the Powerade Barbados Secondary Schools’ Athletics Championships (BSSAC) kicks off with the Esther Maynard Zone.

As the different schools made their final preparations for the championships, The Alleyne School received a boost as Williams Industries Inc. teamed up with the school.

Yesterday at the school in Belleplaine, Williams Industries announced their sponsorship of the school’s track and field team.

In the school’s hall, they made a presentation of the uniforms for the team.

The Esther Maynard Zone features Alleyne, Christ Church Foundation, Combermere, Ellerslie, Grantley Adams Memorial, Graydon Sealy, Harrison College, Parkinson Memorial, Springer Memorial, St. Leonard’s Boys, St. George Secondary and the Ursuline Convent.

They are followed by the Frank Blackman Zone on March 8-9. This zone features Alexandra, Codrington High, Coleridge and Parry, Daryll Jordan, Deighton Griffith, Frederick Smith, Lester Vaughan, The Lodge School, Princess Margaret, Queen’s College, The St. Michael School and St. Winifred’s School.

The final will be held on March 14-16 as the first day will see the 400m semi-finals in the morning only.
