Action heats up in Maxwell tapeball cricket
Victories by Belair Stars and Cane Vale have placed them at the top of Zone B of the Maxwell Sports Club Twenty20 tapeball Tournament at Briar Hall.
Belair Stars cruised to an easy ten-wicket victory over the Green Team. The Green Team posted a score of 87 all out and Belair’s two openers Kadeem Alleyne (49) and Rashwan Williams (29) took their team home in the tenth over.
Cane Vale had a four wicket victory over the Challengers, who posted a scored of 127/7 off their 20 overs. In reply, Cane Vale reached 128/6 in the 19th over with Alcindo Holder scoring 49 not out.
Tied in second place in the Zone are Green Team, Road Warriors, Sargeant’s Youth and Holy Warriors – all on four points. Combined Strikers and Challengers are yet to register a point in the
Zone.
In Zone A the leaders are Renegades and Friends, each on 8 points.
The Renegades defeated Unruly Hitters by six wickets. Unruly Hitters scored 80 all out in 14.2 overs and Renegades reached 82/4 in 11.5 overs.
A no result between RCY and Fireball each left them with two points. RCY are second in the standings with six points, while Blazers, Caribbean Mix, are third.
