100cc Easy Kart won by Adam Mallalieu

 

The Easy Kart 100cc Class was won by the latest member of this class, moving up recently from Easykart 60cc class is Adam Mallalieu in his Terra Caribbean sponsored kart winning with a points total of 66, Adam also won the fastest lap trophy with a 51.921 seconds lap, five more that second place Dana Bradshaw with 61 points and highest place female for the day in the event, Dana also took home again bragging rights for placing one position higher than brother Grame Bradshaw in third overall with 53 points. 
 
Fourth position went to Kayleigh Catwell with 42 points. Kayleigh the daughter of the New Barbados Karting Association Chairman Norman Catwell, Kayleigh suffered a mechanical problem when the sprocket drive chain broke in the second race losing her valuable points and a higher overall position and fifth overall for the day in class went to Adam Marshall in his lucky House Shoe Sponsored kart with 33 points.
The 125cc Easykart class is split with Lights and Masters Classes. The Lights Class as is expected from it’s name is made up of the lighter drivers in the overall 125cc class who are also more juniors, ranging from 16 and up, and with the 28Hp 125cc engine powered karts and lighter weight, which normally produce the faster times. 
 
This event was no exception, the fastest with a time of 50.625 seconds lap time and winner in the Easykart 125 light Class went to first time competitor from Trinidad,  Isa Deen  with two class wins and a second position to amass 68 point. Second position by one point went also to another first-timer Enrique De Leon also from Trinidad with 59 points ahead of local and points leader of the group Joshua Maloney who finished third of the day with 58 points, fourth was Arron Parris – 55 points in his Mercedes sponsored kart and fifth Allan Kinch – 45 points in his Jolly Rogers Party Cruises sponsored kart. 
 
The Easykart 125 Masters Class was fully subscribed and points leader Stuart Garcia had his day cut out for him. Stuart drove the wheels off his kart in this event to keep in the overall championship lead for the class, but had to settle for third overall with 57 points, with Ayrton Bannister second with 60 points and class winner local Hipper Dog Mark Thompson out again winning all three races in class with 75 points and fastest lap for class with a lap of 51.896 seconds. Not to forget Committee member Maurice Fortier, who borrowed his son’s kart due to Aiden being away at school rounding up the fourth position in this class with 16 points.
 
With all the action, ups and downs after this event for all the competitors the SDRR Motorsports/Cheffette Restaurants Barbados Karting Association 2016 Championship Overall Champion Title got closer in this event with Leader Christian Hind in the X30 125cc Class still leading with 400 points overall, but with Easykart 60cc Drivers Calem Maloney and Kyffin Simpson tied in second place with 394 points only now six points adrift, fourth is Ricky Kirton with 357 points and fifth overall Stuart Garcia with 346 points.
