Eboni Atherley is Under-13 road tennis champion

Eboni Atherley from George Lamming is the under-13 KFC/Berger Paints/Cave Shepherd U13 Road Tennis Invitational champion.

Atherley defeated Qodesh Weekes from the St. Michael School in a come-from-behind tough victory at KFC Warrens yesterday to claim the title.

Atherley went down in the first game 14-21 and it looked as though the final was going to be a straight game affair.

However, then the battle began with Atherley pushing Weekes in the second game to win 21-17 and then a tense down-to-the-wire third and deciding game saw Atherley sneaking home 21-19.

The boys champion is yet to be decided with the finalist already booked. Next week, Ahijah Blunt (St. Martin’s Mangrove Primary) and Tyrease Holder (Lester Vaughan Secondary) will face off at the same location for the title.

N’Tari Haynes (Foundation) defeated Jahiem Elliott (St. George Secondary) 21-15, 21-17 in the third place playoffs.
