Top breeds exhibited in BKC show

SOME of the island's best dogs got a chance to strut their stuff on Sunday, when the Barbados Kennel Club (BKC) hosted the All Breeds Championship Dog Show at Waterford Woods. With close to 100 canines passing under the watchful eye of international judge, Keith Thornton, of the United Kingdom, the all-day event saw several local breeders and owners walking off with various prizes.

Throughout the day, many traditional and newer breeds competed across several categories for the top spots and the prestige that comes with the territory.

From the likes of the more locally familiar Retrievers, German Shepherds, Rottweilers and Bull mastiffs, right down to the more rare and recent breeds, such as the French Bulldogs and Border Collies, the dogs of the world were well represented. (MP)
