Williams elated at BCS raffle win

Although he is a regular supporter of the Barbados Cancer Society (BCS) Raffle that raises funds for the charity, this is the first time that David Williams has ever won anything from this raffle and the first time he has ever won anything big.

Speaking to The Barbados Advocate after the presentation, he said that when they informed him that he had won the grand prize, he got “goose bumps all over my body” because he could not believe that he had won the car.

The St. Philip resident who won with ticket number 02683, stated that he already has a car, but plans to keep this one as well.

Meanwhile, Sales Executive at Courtesy Garage Limited, Ryan Morris stated that this car company has been supporting the Society for more than 22 years now and as for this donating of this specific brand – the Hyundai, it has been three years now.

He stated that Mrs. Cooke-Johnson has always been hands on, coming to Courtesy to inspect the vehicles prior to the donation and they at Courtesy are more than pleased to oblige her as they believe in given back to worthy causes and philanthropy has always been a major part of their portfolio.

The second prize of a trip for two to continental USA or Canada went to Raymond and Sheena Gill who are regular supporters of this raffle and purchase huge blocks of tickets. Their generosity has certainty paid off as they were also the winners of the fourth place prize of a weekend for two at the Crane.

The third prize of a 50 gallon Solar Water Heater donated by Solar Dynamics went to Kamel Selman while the fifth prize of a weekend for two at the Coral Reef Club went to Floyd Taylor.
