Visitors arrive for Breakfast in Barbados

HUNDREDS of visitors have landed at the Grantley Adams International Airport for Chum FM’s Breakfast in Barbados 2016. The twenty-five winners of the annual contest, put on by Chum FM, will have one week to experience the paradise that many of us call home.

The close to two hundred visitors, who flew in from Calgary, Vancouver, Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal, saw to it that the turn out for the breakfast show grows bigger and bigger every year. As they entered the arrival lounge, they were met with the lively sounds of the Tuk Band, which deafened any other noise that could be heard around. Attracting much of their attention, the Mother Sally and Stiltsmen were quite an awe factor. Some visitors, embracing the island spirit, even ventured to dance with the Mother Sally as she gyrated to the rhythms of the Tuk.

Speaking to Peter Mayers, Director of the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. extended in Canada, he noted that though only twenty-five people win the contest, many others come to the island to join friends and family who may have been winners of the contest.

Furthermore, he said that this is the thirtieth year for the event, made possible much in part by Bell Media, who, as Mayers stated, puts their confidence in Barbados year after year.

When asked what the winners will be getting up to for the week to come, Mayers explained that they will get to enjoy all that Barbados has to offer. This can be ascertained as within their first hour on the island, they were treated to the Tuk Band, gift packages and local beer.

The show that they are all looking forward to will be at Holders on Thursday night, featuring special guests Shaggy, DNCE and Hailee Steinfeld, instead of Nick Jonas, as was advertised.
