Spencer elected as president of BUT

AFTER the Annual General Elections of the Barbados Union of Teachers (BUT), which took place last Friday, Pedro Shepherd is no longer the President of the Union.

Following the votes being counted, in the wee hours of Saturday morning, it was announced that Sean Spencer will serve as BUT’s President for the period of 2018-2009.

Richmark Cave will serve as Vice President, the General Secretary is Herbert Gittens, Rudy Lovell will serve as Deputy General Secretary, while Candacy Griffith has been voted in as Treasurer, and Julian Pierre as Public Relations Officer.

Andre Holder, Asha Yearwood, Tanya Mayers, Jacqueline Prescod, Andrea Puckering, and Dwayne Greenidge are the Executive Members.

“Many thanks to all who voted in this year’s election. Your support has been greatly appreciated,” Pierre stated in a release.
