NTI STARR Hunt launched

Barbadians not only have a chance to enhance their skillset through the online courses on the National Transforma-tion Initiative (NTI) website, but now they can win prizes through the NTI STARR Hunt with BiP.

This campaign, which is jointly being offered in association with Starcom Network Inc., was launched yesterday at the NTI’s “Alcott”, Worthing, Christ Church location.

The NTI STARR Hunt will run for 30 days, beginning on August 23 and ending on October 1.

In her remarks, NTI Assistant Director, Coursera, Communications and Client Success, Marcelle Greenidge, shared that one of the reasons for this initiative is to make learning fun for locals.

“There are skills to be learned to enhance your skills now, to help you on your job, to help you in your personal life and we have the type of content that is available to you on our platform that allows you to have that kind of fun while learning and improving your skills and improving your lives.”

She added, “We have collaborated with BiP as well as the stations of Starcom to have fun during the last part of summer. So you can go, have your reward while learning but also the rewards that come with it.”

Greenidge explained that individuals participating in the Hunt can win daily prizes of $500. Meanwhile, on the final day, a prize of $5,000 is up for grabs. She stated to be eligible to win, Barbadians first have to register as a learner on nti.org.bb.

“Once you do that, we want you to follow NTI on Facebook as well as our Instagram account. There is the BiP App, and you also need to get those clues and the only way you are going to get those clues, you are going to get them through the BiP App. You will get them on Starcom as well, but … there is a location App and the Bip App would allow you to pin your location and confirm that you are at the location where that clue is. So, we want you to be able to do that and to fully participate.”

Greenidge further stated that after persons have pinned their location, they should “take a selfie” and post this to the NTI’s Facebook and/or Instagram. She added that persons should “tag at NTI STARR Bajan as well as at Digicel Barbados using the hashtag IZABAJAN”. (MG)
