Mixed reactions after Common Entrance Exam 2019

There was a mixture of stunned faces and big smiles on primary school students after the completion of Barbados Secondary Schools’ Entrance Examination (BSSSEE) on Tuesday.

At the Ellerslie School gates, anxious parents waited patiently for their children to emerge from their classrooms. Around 1 p.m. the male students of Grazette Primary School exited first followed by St. Stephen’s Primary School.

The Barbados Advocate spoke to several of the parents and children, with all expressing relief that the event was over. Jaquan Lake from Grazettes Primary School said that it was not good as he found the Mathematics portion of the examination a challenge. His brother Jomal also sat the exam with him and their mother Tracey Lake said she was happy it is all over and wishes them all the best.

Another student Caden Blackman who was greeted by his father after the exam revealed he did his best and he expressed his desire to attend the Ellerslie School.
