Miss Universe Barbados leaves for Atlanta

Miss Universe Barbados, Shanel Ifill is “super excited” to represent her country during the upcoming 2019 Miss Universe pageant.
Ifill left Barbados yesterday for Atlanta, Georgia. Speaking to Barbados Advocate at the Grantley Adams International Airport, she was very upbeat, focused and looking forward to her journey ahead.

“I cannot wait to represent these 166 square miles. This is my home. I love Barbados so much and I am so grateful that I come from such a beautiful place. I am excited to show everybody what Barbados is made of.”

She added preparation for the competition was “a lot more tedious than you think” as it involved daily training in areas such as how one walks and conducts interviews. However, she has kept a positive attitude throughout, and she is “just extremely excited” to be Barbados’ representative in the show.

Ifill receive a warm send off at the airport from family, friends and the team from Crown Events Inc., the franchise holder for Miss Universe Barbados.

Co-owner of Crown Events Inc., Natasha Morgan said they “are very excited” and proud of Ifill.

“Started in 2016 with Shannon Harris followed by Lesley Chapman-Andrews, Meghan Theobalds and now our amazing queen for 2019, Shanel Ifill. Barbados came back on to the international stage with a bang thankfully with Shannon Harris and that legacy of excellence was continued with our following queens and Shanel is no different. She has been getting a lot of international buzz and exposure from the time she was crowned, and we are very excited, looking forward to what she will do on the international stage. We are very confident she will do Barbados exceptionally proud.”

The final of the Miss Universe pageant will occur on December 8th at Tyler Perry’s new Atlanta studio. Competition rounds for the pageant begin on November 28th.
