Kiwanis makes donation to QEH
A local social group of young individuals gave their time and a gift of supplies to the children’s ward at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Sunday.
Public Relations Officer of the Kiwanis Club of Pride Online Barbados (KCOPB) and member of Kiwanis Club Pride of Barbados, Paula Jackman explained that last year the club, KCOPB had made a donation to the children’s ward, C7 and C8 and they sought to continue the relationship. On this occasion, KCOPB received personal items from Massy Distribution (Barbados), which were presented to the ward on March 19. President of KCOPB, Marc Moore and President Elect, Mrs. Deidre Barker-Bailey were supported by their club members for the handing over of the gift basket. Nursing Officer at the QEH, Ms. Esther Nelson expressed her appreciation to the charity for their assistance.
Also, the KCOPB brought other specially invited guests which included Two Mile Hill, Mikey Mercer and Gaynelle Marshall to read to the children as well as Pedro Arthur, who was dressed as a clown to entertain those on the ward. KCOPB is a new cyber social club which was formed in 2015 and the members meet through social media on a regular basis.
