Flow spreads Christmas cheer in The City

Some much-needed Christmas cheer was delivered to more than 80 youngsters over the weekend, as telecommunications provider Flow hosted its annual shopping spree for the residents of the Sterling, Sayes Court and Nightingale Children’s Homes.

For the fifth year running the children were treated to a fun-filled day in The City, picking up items such as toys, clothes, shoes, book bags and treats such as ice-cream and popcorn.

The participation of Flow Ambassadors, such as Dane and Roger Skeete, Anderson “Blood” Armstrong, Dj Ras, Kirk Browne, Carol Roberts and Nikita made the occasion all the more special for the excited youngsters.

“Each day we are driven by a mission of connecting communities and transforming lives, and we are most proud of this initiative which is now in its fifth year,” said Niall Sheehy, Managing Director of Flow.

“At Christmas, it is important that we spread joy and celebrate the true value of gift-giving, and we believe that one of the most important gifts we can give to our children is the gift of hope by showing them that we care.”

Starting in Jubilee Gardens, the children eagerly went in search of the specific items on their wish lists. What ensued was just over two hours of broad smiles and infectious laughter as shopping bags were filled with Christmas cheer.

“Our hearts were filled with joy to know that we made a difference in their lives at least for one day. We had a wonderful time and we were delighted to be in their company. They are perseverance and strength personified and an inspiration for us all!”
