Flow launches ‘Our Community Matters’ campaign

Seven charitable organisations are set to benefit from a major cash injection of over $40 000 as part of Flow’s upcoming end-of-year celebrations.

Under the theme of “Our Community Matters”, Barbados’ leading telecommunications provider will gift the Salvation Army, the Thelma Vaughan Memorial Home, Cancer Support Services and Jabez House with $5 000 each to help cover operational costs and specific projects, while the Barbados Cancer Society, HIV Food Bank and the Barbados Child Care Board are also in line to benefit from the initiative.

“We know times are hard but we can never forget those who are less fortunate than ourselves. For us at Flow, we are in the business of connecting people, and for Christmas, it is our ultimate wish to connect in a tangible way with both our customers and those in need,” said Marilyn Sealy, Director of Communication and Stakeholder Management, Flow Barbados.

Flow has also unveiled attractive specials for its suite of bundles, along with shared minutes for post-paid mobile customers and 50 per cent free LTE data for pre-paid mobile customers until January 31.

“From a product standpoint, our market-leading bundles are packed with value with the best combination of TV, broadband and landline with up to 300 minutes of international calling built in. Our mobile subscribers will also benefit greatly from free LTE data and the ability to share their minutes with friends and family.”

In what has now become customary for the telecoms provider, another element of ‘Our Community Matters’ will see Flow’s management and staff present gifts to the residents of the Sterling, Sayes Court and Nightingale Children’s Homes.

During the six week campaign, the company will also ask its customers to donate non-perishable food items to the Barbados Cancer Society and the HIV Food Bank. Collection boxes have been placed in the company’s retail stores at Swan Street, Sheraton Mall, Sky Mall, Dome Mall, Emerald City and the Customer Experience Centre at Windsor Lodge.

For their contributions, customers will receive a card to be placed on a Christmas tree in-store and they will also be entered in to a draw with a grand prize of a trip for two to Manchester compliments Virgin Atlantic.

“In keeping with the tradition of Cable & Wireless, we are making a concerted effort to open our hearts and wallets to ensure the yuletide season is a little more enjoyable for as many Barbadians as possible,” added Sealy.
